Minutes 11/14/07
1. Vacation Plans
- Black book was ordered for 2008. We will continue to put vacation plans and class schedules in this book.
- We will clear vacation times by email or phone with Peggy. Forms must still be submitted for staff.
- Working time in advance will continue. We will keep our own account of time worked.
- The schedule will remain the same for the remainder of this semester. Peggy will be added to the schedule for the Spring semester.
- "GovPubs Staff" name tags will be ordered by Sheila. They will be non-personal and not required.
- LAB requested that we call to replace any old equipment that is dangerous. Be on the lookout...
- Christine visited GovPubs as part of Preservation's long-term assessment project.
- Preservation will be bringing a laptop to randomly assess a sample of government publications from the back rooms. They will assess the physical condition of items before returning them to their shelves (piles).
- They want a map of the stuff in our back rooms. Ryan is working on a computerized map. Pat will be sketching a quick pencil version.
- Christine suggested sending the old Serial Set and Smithsonian documents off-site. She will propose funding to complete the Smithsonian set before sending off-site.
- We have been receiving CDs of ASI. Sheila is contacting Linda Helgoth about why the check-in process was bypassed and the CDs came directly to us. We will close out the check-in and suppress the CDs. We will also be adding the following note to the record: "Available online from 2004 forward in LexisNexis Statistical."
- Systems is maintaining dark archives of online subscription materials.
- Jennie and Peggy presented some features from "Find Articles & More" in Chinook.

- Staff view includes internal notes in "About this resource."
- Red type indicates problem(s) with the resource.
- Peggy highlighted the Collection Development homepage. We can submit comments on trial databases and request freely available resources. http://ucblibraries.colorado.edu/collectiondevelopment/index.htm
- Biweekly brown bag trainings will be held the first and third Tuesday of each month at noon. The December trainings are scheduled for the 4th and the 18th. Jennie will present on the new SourceOECD on the 4th.
- Peggy and Jennie are working on the statistics Tim pulled together for the annual report.
- The monthly and annual reports will include a narrative account to publicize and record our accomplishments as a department.
- We need to remember to subtract circ statistics from in-house counts.
- Discard lists were passed out.
- Peggy, Jennie, and Leanne will be meeting to further discuss discard list policies.
- Peggy will be requesting funds to get a workstudy student to work on the tax information from mid January through April.
