Meeting minutes Nov.5, 2007
This is the first weekly meeting with Peggy as our new head. Welcome Peggy.
1. Peggy asked us to take a look at the NTIS records in the Engineering Village platform. The difficulties already noted are: no full-text when it appears to be there and no message "Find it in CU".
2. Our new meeting time will be 3 P.M. on Wednesdays.
3. Retro funding will run out in the middle of Nov. Peggy has been able to get additional funding ($1000/month) until the end of the fiscal year.
4. Peggy discussed two workflow models for digitization 1. from the University of Michigan which deaccessions and disbinds the material and 2. one that leaves the pieces intact.
5. Next week a GWLA representative will be here to look at our print technical report collection.
6. Good news about phones in Government Publications. We will try to get administrative phones installed so that we could figure out which phone is ringing.
7. Discard lists - we are about to start working on another special project discard list for Jeffco Library. We also discussed the situation with Adams State.
8. Linda and Sheila will write up a description of the process and timing of loading records for Federal materials.
9. Peggy discussed the digitization of FBIS records. They complete set of records is very expensive, but there is a chance that we could get some records if we could share funding with another library or department.
