1. Tim discussed information he had obtained about refilling the Library Tech III position that will become vacant on July 1. Based on the "market adjustment" raises for library faculty (money for which is being derived from monies generated by unfilled classified library positions) it may still be possible to find funding for the position. This is because of the number of retirees currently leaving the library coupled with justifying the position based on a "web cataloging component" that will be added to the new job description.
2. Kirsten's last day will be tomorrow, Wednesday, June 12th. While she will be moving out of state to start a new position, she will continue to work 1/2 time throughout July and August until a new project manager can be hired.
3. As of yet, construction on the 4th floor of the libray to facilitate handicapped access has not started.
4. Approximately 12 architectural firms came to the RFP (request for proposal) presentation to see if they would be interested in bidding on the re-design of the commons area of the library.
5. Tim mentioned that it would be approximately 22 months before the new PASCAL bay is completed. The existing structure still has 300,000 to 500,000 slots available.
6. Tim also relayed that he had talked with Susan Anthess to see if monies that had been cut from the budget some years ago could be restored.
7. Shifting and cleaning of books continues in NORBASE.
