Aug. 21, 2007 Meeting

Our microfiche records are loading (presumably our print, as well) with I Type 0 or 1 instead of 6. Linda will make a list of "govus" and "govmc" non-serial items and rapid-update them to 6.

Tim will talk to John to change the loader so this stops happening.

There may be three hearings discard lists still outstanding for the Y 4. In 8/16:--Tim wants them.

We need to make sure ILL signs out our microfiche. Something about the current student arrangement down there is causing more than one person to come looking for an item--we keep having to look for something that's already been pulled, although there's no indication--and then somehow the request still doesn't get filled. We can't keep track of the print items they take out, but might get a better idea of the problem if the fiche are logged out. (Talk to Jane/Brice?)

Reference will be closed on football weekends (although they may reconsider the night-game days)--we will not.

The DVDs now across from the Circ desk will be sent offsite, for some reason. The Circ Desk itself will be manned by only one person, with checkout machines doing the rest. There will be no new-book shelf for Norlin anymore--we have the last.

The web guide sheets will be redistributed so we can check different lists and make sure all the guides got in and that they have at least the standard links. Phrases can be included in the keyword list even if some of their constituent words are in the heading or summary. If we delete one link we may delete them all, so have to watch for that; also, we can't delete and add links at the same time.

For some reason, the location "govcd" doesn't allow CDs to circulate in Prospector, or perhaps all CU CDs are coded not to (talk to Brice?)--Tim will try to get them recoded.

We now have a 1970-2000s environmental impact statement collection (minus Wyoming documents) on microfiche that goes with the EIS index we have from 1979-90s. The CSA
index covers 1985- and Tim will try to get the index for 1970-78. There are many EISs in the stacks with no cataloging records. Pat will copy the Andriot list of classes for EISs and a student project will try to get them cataloged. There is a shelf in back that Martha Jo is working from, as well.

We discussed Deborah's offer of exhibit space and decided we didn't need to exhibit.

As part of the depository collection assessments, we need to measure our stacks
in linear feet per class (there is a list of pertinent classes). Perhaps Kelly could
get funded to do the measuring [update: he did]
