Meeting minutes 5/8/06

Leanne conducted a training session on all things Congressional. Since we only managed to cover half of the material, we will finish next week.
1. Reference Dept. is looking into use of IM and has set up a task force before starting a pilot program.
2. For June 6-8 while the 'Train the Trainer Conference' is being held here, we will need to have enough people to staff the desk for those times when attendees might have questions. It was decided to ask Alison to fill in for missing staff.
3. The new version of Chinook will be up soon. Check http://libraries.colorado.edu:2082/. Suggestions for changes are being accepted.
4. Tim mentioned the report about the Per Room Task Force. Since the long bill has been passed, planning for the Commons Area is proceeding. By March 2008, construction in the Per Room will be begin. Before then, both Ref and Per Room need to reduce holdings by 50%.
5. We reviewed the values we use in "I Type" in the item record.
6. Jennie said the purge of the Ref and Index area is complete.
7. There has been a new professor hired for British history. That might cause us to move some of our British documents.
8. No word on the search for the Gov Pubs position.
9. We reviewed the need for wands; 2 new and 1 repair.
