Government Publications Staff Meeting – July 24, 2007

Debra Van Tassel has been hired as Project Manager for the Grant

Tim will look into the possibility of getting a room divider to go between the sink and eating area and the desk area near the windows

Discard lists that are being handing out may have some problems

A volunteer with freshmen status contacted Leanne asking for the opportunity to work 3 or 4 hours per day between July 27 to September 1^st. Linda will contact

Carl Stewart from Preservation has installed a temperature sensor on the orange shelf in the back of the office

Linda Rogers is working on the temporary bib records in Chinook. There are thousands of them so it may take awhile.

Tim has been working with Jina on loading CIS Executive Branch records. Also attaching CIS microfilm hearing records. Digitized records to be added.

Discard lists from Wyoming will cover their collection that dates from 1907 forward. A list of Serial Set volumes in poor condition in our collection will be sent to them. They are not sending discard lists on the hearings, so it will be up to us to id missing items or those in most demand. Hearings in most demand here include those on Public Lands and Indian Affairs. Others in most demand will be identified and added to the list.

Kelly has asked for cataloging experience. He is taking the II test. Pat will give him some tips on passing the test and teach him some of the basics of cataloging. He has requested some experience in cataloging be added to further qualify him for a near future prospective job in the library.

Alert-Preservation is bringing back items from the sample shelf reading project. They have been checked in and are to be shelved without being counted
