Minutes (a little late) for January 16
1. Marchive hasn't sent any barcodes or labels recently due to the weather.
2. Tim has requested a temporary person for Frank's position and will be requesting the new person to fill it in be on non-tenure track.
3. Norlin Underground has reopened, but only until 2:30.
4. Sheila will discuss with serials if we still need the DVD8 and DVD9 in the 049 fields.
5. There is no longer a need to put a call number on the front of the CD-ROM box, on the spine and the CD itself is sufficient.
6. CTRC is closing, Reggie is going to ILL.
7. Access Services (Circ, ILL, shelving) will have a new BuffCentral that will send students to the area where they are needed.
8. Cabinet has discussed most of the R2 recommendations and will be discussing the organization questions this afternoon.
9. The Unabomber papers have arrived in Archives, but they are still not accessible to the public. These are all the papers the FBI took out of his cabin.
10. When printing you must put a name on the document to print and can no longer delete the items.
11. Tim went to the Alliance Directors meeting and reported on GPO and how the digitization project has not happened and that Bruce James and Judy Russell are departing. He also had a question on why Colorado has 2 regionals. He discussed with the group some of the problems with drooping Regional status, such as if they dropped depository status as well they would have to return the materials, whereas just dropping the regional status would allow them to access the collection and keep what they wanted. Tim was also asked to form a group to analyze various discard issues. There was a brief discussion of a comprehensive collection in PASCAL, but this discussion was postponed until the second bay is completed.
